Koch Pipeline Selects @hand for Enterprise Mobility

Koch Pipeline Company (KPL), a division of Koch Industries, recently selected @hand as its Enterprise Mobility software provider for a mobile work management solution. Early next year, the company will deploy the @hand Field Mobility System (FMS) to field service technicians and supervisors responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of Koch's pipeline assets.

@hand FMS will enable Koch's field personnel to use mobile devices (handhelds, tablets, and laptops) to perform mission-critical job functions, such as work order processing, operator rounds, and timekeeping. To ensure that mobile data is consistent with systems of record, @hand will interface with Koch's IBM Maximo asset management system.

KPL manages over 4,000 miles of crude oil, refined petroleum, chemicals, and natural gas pipelines in the central United States, operating in states such as Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, and Wisconsin.

URS Selects @hand for Mobile Solution to Support Facilities Management

@hand recently announced that it has been selected by a facilities management group at URS to support mobile work order management, mobile asset management, and other maintenance activities. URS, a multi-national engineering services firm with over $9 billion in annual revenue, manages a business unit that provides outsourced facilities management services to a variety of customers with large-scale, asset intensive facilities.

URS will deploy the @hand Field Mobility System (FMS) first to a large manufacturing facility, where mobile maintenance and supply workers will use @hand software on handheld devices to process work orders and capture mission-critical data in support of facilities management objectives. @hand FMS will interface with IBM's Maximo enterprise asset management system.

Oracle recently announced the selection of @hand as an Honorable Mention recipient for the 2010 Oracle Titan Awards. Oracle announced the award at its annual Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco in late September.

@hand Announces FMS 5.4.3 General Availability

This product update provides a variety of new features and enhancements for the FMS Framework as well as the FMS M-Tier® Platform. The Framework has added a variety of new organization and configuration options, including a multi-window interface, object tagging, expanded code generation, global actions, and improved management of custom pages. M-Tier introduces enhancements such as parallel data reposts, more efficient transaction processing, and improved client logging.

@hand has developed a strategic partnership with Jade, a provider of enterprise mobility software and hardware solutions in the U.K. Leveraging @hand's Field Mobility System, Jade has developed a secure enterprise mobility workflow application ecosystem that enables the simultaneous connection of any back office system with any front end mobile device. At the core of this ecosystem is Jump, Jade’s "unified mobility platform."

@hand today announces that Smith International has made a strategic commitment to @hand for field mobility software solutions. Smith, a leading provider of products and services to the oil and gas industry, will deploy @hand's Field Mobility System (FMS) across its operating segments.

With @hand software, Smith's field service and warehouse teams are reducing their reliance on paper-based processes and migrating to mobility applications and an electronic field ticketing process. The new mobile solutions will help to ensure invoice accuracy, as well as improve inventory visibility and enhance service levels. In addition, Smith expects to improve time-to-invoice and DSO metrics.
