@hand recently announced that it has been selected by a facilities management group at URS to support mobile work order management, mobile asset management, and other maintenance activities. URS, a multi-national engineering services firm with over $9 billion in annual revenue, manages a business unit that provides outsourced facilities management services to a variety of customers with large-scale, asset intensive facilities.
URS will deploy the @hand Field Mobility System (FMS) first to a large manufacturing facility, where mobile maintenance and supply workers will use @hand software on handheld devices to process work orders and capture mission-critical data in support of facilities management objectives. @hand FMS will interface with IBM's Maximo enterprise asset management system.
For more information, read the press release on @hand's web site.
In related news, @hand is busy deploying our software in yet another manufacturing environment - a newly acquired industrial customer in Texas. Visit this blog in the upcoming weeks for more updates, as we continue to deliver successful enterprise mobility solutions.
